Baking with our buddy class

Today we baked scones with our some students from our buddy class. Next week we will bake with the rest of our buddy class. We went to the kitchen garden and picked some basil and tomatoes. Then we came back to class and baked our scones.

If you would like to make scones this is the recipe we used from the Edmonds website. 

Room 6 children have the recipe in their Home books.

We all agreed they were very yummy. 

Lucky we made enough to share with the buddies who missed out on baking this week.

Buddy Reading

Buddy reading begins early in Room 6.

Thanks to our Kauri visitors we can read our book to them or Hine before school even starts!

Our favourite place to play at school

In the Orchard we are learning to use the Kidpix tools to create a picture of our favourite place. We tried changing the colour and size of our pen.

The family picnic

On Thursday we have a family picnic. We can bring our families to school to meet our teacher.

Where: Hamilton East School by our swimming pool and hall
When Thursday 19th February 2015
Time: 4.30pm- 6pm

Bring your family, your swimming togs and a picnic dinner if you would like. There will be food for sale if you want to buy dinner.

Meeting Room 10 our buddy class

Today we met our buddy class. 

We are buddies with Room 10 and they are in Kauri Team. 

We listened and shared stories with them. After that we danced to some songs. We really liked meeting our buddy class. We saw some of them in the playground at lunchtime.

Our Redwood Tree

Stand Tall, Be Proud.

We are sketching our Redwood Tree. It is very old and very tall. 

We are learning to use our sharpie and look, draw, look. We look at part of the tree, draw it and then look again for the next part to draw. 

When we went back to class we dyed out drawings. 

Before school

When we arrive at school we unpack our bags. 

Today we practised unpacking our bags. 

This is what we do:

We hang our bag on the hook.

 We empty the contents of our bag.

 

We put our book bag in the box.

We put our lunch box on the bench.

We are learning to read. We listen to books and we practice reading.

We have books to read at home.
