We read the big book "The Gardener's Maze". This inspired us to make our own maze. The tamariki learned directional words such as forward, backward, left turn, and right turn. We had fun helping each other get out of the maze.
My name is Ivy and I am delighted to be the teacher of room 6. I have been a teacher in the Philippines for many years. My journey to become a teacher in New Zealand started through studying TESOL in 2016 and Master of Teaching and Learning in 2018.

Matariki Celebrations
Room 6 learned the steps in preparing pumpkin soup as part of our Matariki feast.
We all had a turn in cutting the pumpkin, putting the broth into the pot, and using a stick mixer to blend the soup. In the end, everyone had a cup of soup and we even shared them with Room 5. Room 5 shared with us their fairy bread. It was a fun experience for all of us.
We also learned that Hiwa-iterangi is the wishing star. We all made our wishes for our whanau and designed our stars to take home.
What an awesome Matariki celebration!

One day. Paddington Bear went to Buckingham Palace. He had a tea party with the queen.
If I will visit the queen, I will put my pink dress on and bring her love heart chocolates. I will also wear my tiara. My brother can go to the queen’s castle with me too.
