Science Experiment

Yesterday, Edie and Georgia rushed to room sixteen. First, we talked about volcanoes and then we got into groups as Edie carefully poured some lemonade into glasses. They then dropped raisins, it fizzed, sank and floated.

Yesterday, we did an experiment with two kauri teachers. They came to help us do it. Their names are Edie and Georgia. They were epic. They brought glass cups and lemonade with raisins. The raisins went up and down, the bubbles were pushing them. It was awesome and incredible. It reminded me about balloons.

Yesterday, I wasn’t at school but I still know what they did because they told me. First, they talked about volcanoes and they got a cup of lemonade and put raisins in them. They observed the raisins. The raisins danced and now we’re scientists. They shared with me two big words, it was observe and predict.

Puppet Show

Look at what Room 16's Tamariki have been doing! After reading the story "The Ant and the Grasshopper", we decided to have a puppet show. We each took turns being the characters, story tellers and audience. We learned how to project our voices to say our lines while manipulating the puppets. We also learned how to be a good audience and clap to show appreciation after the show.
