Room 6 harvested some kumara in the school's kitchen garden. Each tamariki had a turn in digging for kumara. We found a total of 9 kumara in our plot. The next day, we all washed our hands and the kumara too. We each had a turn in cutting the kumara. Ivy put them in the airfryer and we all enjoyed our kumara chips.
My name is Ivy and I am delighted to be the teacher of room 6. I have been a teacher in the Philippines for many years. My journey to become a teacher in New Zealand started through studying TESOL in 2016 and Master of Teaching and Learning in 2018.

Mrs Wishy-Washy's Birthday Party
Room 6 read the big book "Mrs Wishy-Washy's Birthday". In response to our book, we learned how to 'organize' a birthday party. We learned how to write a party invitation, made puppets, and practiced for a puppet show. The children agreed to recite to Mrs Wishy Washy and her guests the poem of the week. We decorated a birthday cake by writing all the words we learned so far. We each made a playdough cupcake for the party.
Mrs Wishy-Washy came with some of the guests and spent awesome moments with Room 6's tamariki.
It was a wonderful learning experience for our tamariki.
