Metamorphisis - what does that mean?

We are learning about the life cycle of a monarch butterfly. 

Hamilton East has a beautiful butterfly garden. We saw different sized caterpillar's, a chrysalis and even some monarch butterflies. 
Yesterday we saw this caterpillar in the shape of a J. Today we checked on it. Can you see what happened over night? 
 Can you see the chrysalis? You have to look carefully.

    We can't see the chrysalis on the plant anymore. Room 6 thinks the chryaslis might have hatched into a butterfly. Have you seen the caterpillers in the butterfly garden?
